We just wanted to give a big shout to all of YOU guys that helped us donate over 800 Pillow Pets this past December! We were absolutely blown by the support from all you who donated. We dispersed these locally to Summit Life and Good Samaritan Ministries, who handled getting these into the hands of children in the Tri-Cities area.

Johnson City School’s Homeless Education Program, with the help of community partners, sponsored homeless and at-risk students for Christmas. However, as usual, we had some last minute needs emerge. Due to Jammin’ Butter’s donation, we were able to get pillow pets from Summit Leadership to give as last minute Christmas gifts. Accompanied by other donations, these pillow pets went to students that would have otherwise not gotten Christmas gifts.

We worked alongside Summit Life, who were in need of backpacks for various charitable organizations in the local tri-cities area. We sent them over 100 backpacks for various uses, and we just got a great update! Check it below:

Bill Jolley – Pastor, Sojourn Church writes…

Sojourn Church assembled supplies from Summit Life to create backpack care packages for the homeless in downtown Johnson City. Each backpack contains a blanket, a hooded sweatshirt, socks, gloves and basic toiletries.

In late Fall 2014, we offered up donations of gloves, hats, socks and more to any community organizations in need. • 100 beanies
• 100 coloring books

They have such a wide variety of items.  It took me forever to decide what to review and then I saw this Wolfgang Puck Electric 2-in-1 Dual Salt and Pepper Grinder with LED and knew I needed it! I am always finding salt and pepper all over as my husband keeps them in open containers next to the stove! Plus Jaime worked for Wolfgang Puck when he first started out and is a big fan! The grinder came in a fun lime green and it looks great out on the counter.  It was easy to start using and I love that with the touch of a button we have freshly ground salt and pepper.

We work closely alongside Summit Life, a local non-profit, to connect local organizations and charities with our donated products we send to them. Summit Life works tirelessly to help those in need and we are truly lucky to partner with them on a daily basis. Recently our connection at Summit Life was in need of pencils and spiral bound notebook paper at wholesale price. We deal with wholesalers on a daily basis, so we were happy to facilitate getting those items priced, shipped and over to Summit Life to distribute.

We were able to get the following:

13 DEALS SIMPLE. EASY. FUN

Simple. Easy. Fun. I love those three words!! My older E’s and I had so much fun this past week trying out new goodies from 13deals.com. I wish you could have seen their faces when they opened the box, it was like Christmas.

E2 is my little cleaning bee. She took one look at the microfiber duster and went to work. E2 is so funny!!! She kept asking what else she could dust and thought it was the coolest thing that it could reach so high. The microfiber duster extends to make high places more accessible without using a footstool. I love being able to dust my ceiling fan without climbing on top of my table.

My older E’s love making the hubby and I breakfast on Saturday mornings, AKA cereal. They are just so cute and so proud of themselves! The free standing food dispenser will be great for those mornings and hopefully keep cereal from finding its way all over the kitchen floor. The E’s have already had so much fun with it. A LOT of cereal has been eaten lately but I’m not sure if it’s the yumminess of the cereal or how much fun they are having dispensing it that is causing the sudden rise of cereal consumption with week.

My five year old pointed out that the nob was a little hard to turn but that she was big enough to handle it. Haha. We are loving this product and it makes breakfast time a little more fun.

Do any of your kiddos ask for a hall light to be left on at bedtime? Mine sure do!! All I see however is wasted energy going out the window and the electricity bill going up. Nightlights are great but with little E crawling around I don’t like anything plugged up at her eye level if we can help it. These motion lights have been great!! If either of the older girls have to get up at night the motion light turns on as soon as their door opens.

Simple. Easy. Fun.

We were excited about these items, because we are truly a Geek family.  We love Star Wars, and the idea of having a fun full set of cookie cutters was perfect for making cookies for parties or just to surprise the Wee Child with.  Of course, Han Solo in carbonite is a classic, and the mold is great for things like ice cubes, or special homemade chocolates.  LEGO fever has finally arrived in our house, and the idea of making some LEGO brick candies, crayons or other fun treats.

We love the fact that 13 Deals offers items like this that appeal to our Geek side, but also at great pricing.  For just a few dollars, and frequently FREE SHIPPING, we can grab up those little extra items that make life fun.  It’s a great site to grab home decor, camping items, fun kitchen gadgets, Geek pride items like posters, fun items like we got, or even t-shirts.  I really love this site for shopping at holidays.  There are always great items with the holiday theme, but also perfect for special events like Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, 4th of July and the traditional Christmas and birthday gift items.

If you happen to have a problem with an item, customer service has been great for us thus far.  Just a quick phone call or email and you will have a solution to your problem.  If an item is currently out of stock (like the Star Wars molds now are), you can add yourself to their list to receive an email notice when they get more stock in. This is perfect if you want to grab something at the lower price point but aren’t in a huge rush. Shipping is almost always super fast with items leaving their facility within 24-48 hours.
